About Me

Having spent the majority of my life in Livingston, I now live in Uddingston, with my fiancee Claire, and our son Hamish, who is 6.

For the past 22 years, I have dedicated myself to serving as a full-time firefighter across Central Scotland and West Lothian. This rewarding career has granted me the honour of assisting people during their times of need, as well as in their moments of celebration, which resonates deeply with my role as a Celebrant.

My journey to becoming a Celebrant began with the passing of my beloved mum, Janet. During that difficult time, my family and I came together to provide her with a warm and dignified send-off that emphasized celebrating her life, just as she had planned and desired. I believe this approach helped us during our most challenging days.

I believe that families and individuals can derive comfort from bidding their loved ones farewell in a manner that not only grieves their loss, but more significantly, celebrates their loved one's life. And similarly, I believe it is important for couples to express their joy and happiness, through ceremonies and rituals that celebrate significant milestones in their lives.

Having undertaken various training courses with Celebrant Training Scotland, I am now on a journey of continued personal, professional, and spiritual development. I am also a member of The Scottish Independent Celebrant's Association (SICA), a respected and professional body of working celebrants, who set standards by which all celebrants should be measured.
